In-cabin air transport is ideal for smaller pets like small dogs, cats, rabbits, and household birds.
Here’s who can fly:
Small Dogs: All breeds weighing up to 25 lbs. for most U.S. airlines and up to 8 kg (17.5 lbs.) for most international airlines. Must measure less than 12 inches (30 cm) tall from the shoulder to the ground.
Cats: All breeds with the same weight requirements as small dogs.
Household birds: Pet birds of most species may fly in-cabin as long as they are fully feathered and no longer require supplemental heat. Only some airlines permit pet birds to fly in-cabin.
Domesticated rabbits: Only some airlines permit all breeds of pet rabbits to fly in-cabin.

Your Pet Travels with a Professional Travel Guardian, NOT an Off-Duty Flight Attendant.
When you book an in-cabin air transport with Signature Pet Transport, your pet will travel with their very own professional travel guardian (often called a “flight nanny”), so you can rest easy knowing they are in the very best hands.
Unlike some budget companies that use off-duty flight attendants to move pets, all of our travel guardians are registered with the USDA, insured, bonded, certified in pet first aid, and are extremely experienced with both pet care and air travel.

HEALTH AND SAFETY FIRST
Our travel guardians are trained in pet CPR and have access to 24/7/365 veterinary chat and video consultation through FirstVet.
PEACE OF MIND AT EVERY STEP
You’ll receive photo and video updates during your pet’s transport, so you can see how loved and cared for they are.
SIGNATURE PROFESSIONALISM
Some companies use airline employees to transport pets and require under-the-table payments in cash. Our travel guardians are trained, insured, and only fly on full-fare tickets, eliminating the chance your pet is denied boarding.
How Much Does Hiring a Travel Guardian (or ‘Flight Nanny’) Cost?
Let's talk about the elephant in the room first.
Yes, you've probably heard about companies who'll transport your pet on the side — cash only, a couple hundred dollars, no contract, no insurance. On the surface, it sounds like a steal.
But here's what that deal actually comes with:
Many pet transport companies exploit airline workers who use their flight benefits to keep costs artificially low for their clients. Even though this often times means a dramatically cheaper transport for you, it puts your pet at risk of being stranded or worse. Airline employees are prohibited from making money from their free flight benefits.
Your pet flies standby because that’s how airline employees are able to book their flights for free. That means they could get bumped from the first flight. Then the second. Then the third — while you're already at your destination wondering where they are. There's no guarantee of when, or even if, they'll make it onto a flight that day.
And if something goes wrong in transit? That flight attendant isn't licensed, isn't insured, and has no professional accountability. You have no recourse — just a cash transaction and a prayer.
The "cheap" option has a way of getting expensive fast.
What professional, fully insured, in-cabin transport actually costs:
For most transports within the continental U.S., you can expect a total of $1,400–$3,000.
For most transports to/from Europe, you can expect a total of $3,000–$7,000.
That range exists because every pet's journey is genuinely unique. Airfares on commercial airlines fluctuate daily. Some coast-to-coast or international trips include a hotel overnight. Travel document preparation, customs clearance, and the specific route all factor into your final quote.
What you're getting is a licensed, USDA-registered, fully insured professional Travel Guardian — flying on confirmed seats on commercial airlines, handling every detail from paperwork to customs, and sending you updates throughout the journey.
No cash handoffs. No standby roulette. No "I hope this works out."
We're committed to being upfront and working with you to find the best plan for your budget and your pet's needs. Think of it as a tailor-made travel package where every “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed.

Great question, and a fair one. The short answer is that what we offer isn't really a "quote." It's a 30-minute, one-on-one conversation with a pet travel specialist who will take the time to understand your pet, your situation, and your goals, then walk you through the right solution for your specific needs.
A generic quote form can't do that. And honestly, pet travel is too important to get wrong based on incomplete information.
The $47 also ensures that the time our specialists spend with you is focused, productive, and fully dedicated to clients who are serious about moving forward. Because of that, we're able to give you the kind of attention your pet deserves.
The best part? Your $47 is applied directly toward whichever service you choose. So it's not a fee, it's your first step.

Full terms are detailed in your transport proposal and contract. Here is an overview:
Organizing, requesting, & confirming a pet's move is much more complicated than human travel. As a result, all changes to the travel plan initiated by the client after a booking request has been submitted to the airline will incur a $500 rebooking fee plus any additional costs as a result of the change (e.g. different airfare prices because of a different flight or airline).
❗👉 One free change to your itinerary is allowed as part of our Premium packages!
In the event that you need to cancel your transport after you've signed up with us, the following refund schedule will apply:
0-7 days after this proposal is signed, you'll get 90% of your deposit back, minus payment processing fees (~6%).
8-21 days after, you'll get 66% of your total payment refunded (deposit + any payments made additionally).
22-45 days after, you'll get 33% of your total payment refunded (deposit + any payments made additionally).
Over 45 days after or within 10 days of the planned travel date, you'll get 10% of your total payment refunded (deposit + any payments).

A semi-private flight allows cats and dogs to travel in-cabin with their travel guardian. These flights are operated by JSX and K9Jets. They operate out of private terminals. So there are no stressful crowds and noise, typical of a commercial airport terminal. Additionally, the smaller passenger capacity on these flights allows for more personalized attention and a quieter environment, which can be beneficial for pets with anxiety or fear of flying.Learn more about in-cabin air transport on semi-private flights.
